TATRA 805 "osmsetpėtka" HISTORY

This car designed for army in year 1951 as a 1,5 ton load truck.

T805 have the traditional and typical image of "tatra koprivnice company", with backbone frame and central bearing tube and with half-axles and length wise torsion bar suspension.

Powered by air-cooled petrol high turn V8 engine type T603 with OHV. This 2545 ccm engine delivers 75 horses (56 kW). Maximum overall weight of the flatbed lorry is 5000 kg, length 4720 mm, width 2040 mm and hight 2630. Minimal speed is 1,5 km/h and maximal speed 75km/h. Fuel consumption 24 l/100 km. Groundclearance 400 mm. Car is able to overcome gradient up to 69%.

Production number is more than seven thousand cars in different body types. The most popular model was the military radio communication car (Trinec, Dalava), army ambulance car and cisterns. Piquancy is special serie (only 20 pieces) Tatra 805 paratrooper, with withdrawable linen roof and tip-up frontal window. Other models include a flat bed lorry, fire engine, crane version, bus and the special camping car or civile version as used by Hanzelka and Zikmund.
